Educational Qualification:

Science Stream -> M.Sc/ B.Sc/ MCA/ BCA/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (IT) with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, Electronics or Computer Science.

Arts Stream -> MA/ BA with English Literature, Hindi Literature, Urdu Literature, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Mathematics or Sociology.

Physical Standards: Minimum physical standards will be as applicable to the Soldier (Clerk). The details can be obtained from any HQ Recruiting Zone, IRO Delhi Cantt / Army Recruitment Office.

Mode of Recruitment:

(A) Screening -> Screening of candidates will be carried out as per programme issued by Recruiting Offices.

(B) Physical Fitness Test -> Physical fitness test will be as follows:- (a) 1.6 Km in maximum 6.20 minutes, (b) Pull ups (Beam) - minimum 6 pull ups, (c) Zig Zag balance - must pass, (d) 9 Feet ditch - must pass.

(C) Medical Standards –> A candidate should have robust physique and mental health, chest should be well developed with minimum 5 cm expansion, should have normal hearing in each ear. Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gums and teeth, i.e 14 dental points. Should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele, varicose veins or piles. Remustering candidates should be in medical category SHAPE-1 in terms of Special Army Order 6/S/2005/Rtg dt 05 Aug 2005 as amended from time to time.

(D) Written Examination –> Only those candidates selected in the screening and declared medically fit will be permitted to appear in the written examination which will be conducted at HQ Recruiting Zone/ IRO Delhi Cantt on 26 Jul 2015 . The written examination will consist of one composite paper of 2 hours duration, composed of the two parts :-Science candidate will attempt only part-I and Part-II (Science). Arts candidates will attempt only Part-I and Part -II (Arts).

(a) Part -1 f Compulsory for all candidates) It will consist of 50 questions on General Knowledge and General English. (Max marks is 50 and pass marks is 20)

(b) Part - II (Science Stream) Compulsory only for M.Sc/B Sc / MCA/ BCA / B.Tech/B.Sc (IT) candidates. This part will comprise of Questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. Candidates will be required to attempt all questions. (Max marks for Part II (Science) is 50 and pass marks is 20)

(c) Part - II (Arts Stream) Compulsory only for MA/BA candidates. This part will comprise questions from Mathematics,History, Geography, Political Science and Economics. Candidates will be required to attempt all questions (Max marks for Part II (Arts) is 50 and Pass marks is 20).

(d) Candidates are required to pass in Part - I and Part - II separately depending on stream chosen. Stream (Science/Arts) will be specifically indicated in the application form.

(e) All answers will be marked on OMR answer sheet.

How To Apply: Candidates are required to submit their Application Form duly filled along with all required documents as per the format duly superscribed “APPLICATION FOR HAVILDAR EDUCATION” on the top outer cover of the envelope to the Headquarters Recruiting Zone /IRO Delhi Cant (For Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad & Mewat Dist of Haryana) of which the individual is domicile of. The candidate has to appear for written examination from the same Headquarter Recruiting Zone only. Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Engineering Degree or are studying in the final year of Engineering course, are eligible to apply.

Selection Process:

(a) Shortlisting of Applications - Integrated HQ of MoD(Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks for each discipline without assigning any reason.
(b) Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued through candidate's registered e-mail id and through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and no request for changes are entertained in this regard.
(c) Interviews will be held in May/Jun 2015 onwards.
(d) Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival and details of the same are available at official website.

(a) Initial shortlisting of applications will be done by Recruiting Directorate, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) and the decision of DG Recruiting will be final. Details of the shortlisted online applications will be put on Indian Army website. In this regard no representation will be entertained.
(b) Candidates whose applications are found to be correct shall be detailed for SSB interview at allotted selection centres on specified dates.
(c) Two Stage Selection Procedure. Two stage selection procedure based on psychological Aptitude Test is held at Selection Centres. All the candidates will face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates who fail to pass stage one will be returned on the same day.
(d) Those candidates who qualify stage II will submit the attested photocopies of educational documents to Selection Centre for completion of their Dossier/verification.
(e) The candidates who qualify at the Service Selection Board and are found medically fit by a Medical Board, will be placed in the order of merit. The final selection will be made in that order up to the number of vacancies available at that time.

The Head Priest should be in possession of Geshe(Ph.D) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with proper certificate from Monastery.

Physical Standards: Height - 160 cm; Weight - 50 Kg.; Chest -77 cm.; Physical Fitness  Tests (PFT) - candidate should be able to run 1600 meter in eight minutes.

Educational Qualifications & Eligibility: Candidates should have passed Engineering Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or appeared in the final year examination of Engineering course. The candidates appearing in the final year examination of Degree Course should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA. Such candidates will be inducted for on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at IMA as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite Degree Certificate.

Physical Standards:

(a) Height & Weight - The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
(b) Visual Standards - A candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 3.5D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5D including Astigmation. Internal examination of the eye will be done my means of opthalmoscope to rule out any disease of the eye. A candidate must have good binocular vision. The colour vision standard will be CP-III. A candidate should be able to recognize red and green colours. Candidates who have undergone or have evidence for having undergone Radial Karatotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected. In order to detect PRK/LASIK all the candidates at SMB will be subjected to the measurement of Axial length by A-Scan biometer. Candidates who have undergone LASER Surgery for correction of refractive error will be considered for commission in Army if they fulfill following criteria :- (i) Age more than 20 years. (ii) Uncomplicated stable LASIK/Excimer (PRK) laser procedure done for Myopia or Hypermetropia, with stable refraction for a period of six months after the procedure. (iii) A healthy retina. (iv) Corrected vision should be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye, with maximum residual refraction of + 1.50 in any meridian for myopia or hypermetropia. (v) Axial length within permissible limits.
(c) Permanent Body Tattoos - Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoos marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.
(d) To pass fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from any disability.
(e) Prospective candidates are advised to exercise and keep themselves physically fit, in order to avoid any injury due to the rigorous physical training at Indian Military Academy. In order to be able to adjust to the regime there candidates are advised to achieve following standards before joining the IMA, if finally selected:- (a) Running 2.4Km in 15 minutes (b) Push ups - 13 Nos (c) Sit ups - 25 Nos (d) Chin ups - 6 Nos (e) Rope climbing - 3-4 metres.

Selection Process:

(a) Short listing of Applications - Integrated HQ of MoD(Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks without assigning any reason.
(b) Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued only through candidate's registered e-mail id and also through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and no request for changes are entertained in this regard.
(c) Interviews will be held in March / April 2015 onwards.
(d) Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same date. Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival and details of the same are available at official website.
(e) Entitlement for Travelling Allowance. Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for a particular type of commission shall be entitled for ACIII Tier to and fro railway fare or bus face including reservation cum sleeper charges within the Indian limits. Candidates who apply again for the same type of commission will not be entitled to travelling allowances on any subsequent occasion.
