Government of Puducherry, Police Department issued recruitment notification for the post of Home Guards for fill up total 450 Vacancies. The last date for receipt of application is 10th November 2014.

Educational Qualification: A pass in SSLC (Matriculation) or its equivalents.
Selection Process: Physical Test. Written Test and Medical Fitness Test
(1) Physical Measurement - Candidates will be screened first for Height, Chest & Weight.
(2) Physical Efficiency test -
For Male Candidates -> Stage-1 - 800mts Run 2minutes 50 seconds, Stage-II - Long Jump-3.80 mts, Stage-III - High Jump-1.20 mts, Stage-IV - 1OO mts Run in 20 Seconds.
For Female Candidates -> Stage-I - 200mts Run 45 seconds, Stage-II - Long Jump in -2.75 mts, Stage-III - High Jump in 0.9 mts.
(3) Written Test (100 Marks) - All candidates (Male or female) who qualify in the Physical standards and Physical Efficiency tests shall undergo a written test. The test will be of 2 hours duration with Maximum of 100 marks questions. The Questions will be of objective type and of SSLC standard. The written test will be in English and Regional languages (i.e) for candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malyalam and for Yanam in Telugu. The Questions for General English shall be only in English Language.
Medical Test:
(a) Eye sight: -> Distant Vision:- Normal-Both eyes should be 6/6 OR (1) Better eye with correction 6/6 (2)Worse eye vision 6/12(without correction) OR Both eyes should be 6/9. Near Vision:- Normal-Both eyed should be J1 OR Better eye with correction J1 and worse eye without correction J11. Free from color blindness.
(b) Hearing - Free from any disability.
(c) Defects or deformity - Free from any defect or deformity of limbs.
(d) Disease - Free from hernia, piles, respiratory disease, diabetes or any other disease, which will adversely affect the work of Home Guard.
(e) Other - Should not be flat-footed or suffering from knocked Knees and bowed legs and should not be over-weight as prescribed in the medical standards followed by Life Insurance Corporation of India.
Physical Standards:
Men -> Height - 165cms, Chest - Unexpanded 81 cms., Expanded 86 cms.
Women -> Height - 154 cms, Weight - 45 kgs Minimum.

Physical Standards:
Height - Not less than 171 cms.

Wight - Body mass Index should be 18.50 to 29.9 Kg/M2.
Selection Process: Physical Test. Written Test and Medical Fitness will be held in Puducherry only.
(1) Physical Measurement - Candidates will be screened first for Height & Chest, Weight.
(2) Physical Efficiency test - Candidates who satisfy the above conditions of physical measurement will be admitted for the Physical Efficiency.
Stage-I - 01 Mile race - 6.30 minutes.
Stage-II - Long Jump - 3.80 meters (3 chances).
Stage-III - High Jump - 1.20 meters (3 chances).
(3) Written Test (150 Marks) - All candidates who qualify in the Physical standards and Physical Efficiency tests, shall undergo a Written test. The questions will be in objective type and will be generally of S.S.L.C. standard. The question paper will be in single parts of 2.30 hours duration with a maximum of 150 mark in each part on the subjects. The written test will be in English, Hindi and Regional languages (i.e) for candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malyalam and for Yanam in Telugu. The Questions for General English shall be only in English Language. For qualifying the written test the candidate should obtain a minimum of 40% in the case of General candidate and 35% in respect of others.
