CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Intern Awards scheme is meant to be a preparatory phase for young interns imbibing the spirit of enquiry and learning the tools and techniques of research through participation and doing. The scheme thus seeks for young interns to gain from the knowledge and experience of accomplished scientists by working with them and to take up S&T as a career.

In case the number of candidates is large the Selection Committee may adopt higher cut off percentage of academic records, as a measure to short list candidates for interview.
